deputy CLAY LIVINGSTON #1906

Clay Zachary Livingston was born in Garden City, Kansas and died  unexpectedly on December 3, 2021 at home after a short illness with Covid 19. Clay was  a United States Marine Corps veteran of 4 years and a Deputy Sheriff  with the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office. He was a loving husband,  devoted father, a wonderful son, an amazing brother, an incredible  grandson and a brother to those of us at the Elbert County Sheriff's Office.

He was an avid dirt bike rider and  enjoyed sharing his passion of riding with his wife, family, and  friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin  and other camping adventures. Clay’s humorous and caring personality  brought happiness, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He is  survived by his wife, Shelby Livingston, their two sons, Carson  Livingston and Cole Livingston

He carries with him our gratitude and appreciation for his service and dedication to the Sheriff’s Office and the community. Deputy Clay Livingston, you are clear for end of watch.

deputy michael joos

Mike was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 20, 1960. He knew from a young age that he wanted to be a police officer. After graduating from Westminster High School in 1978, he went straight into the police academy. From there he went on to serve and protect multiple communities, including Elbert County, for over 40 years. He enjoyed many hobbies, including camping and fishing, which were passions he shared as a child with his parents and siblings. In his youth, he began a love of cards and board games that grew into a family legacy of playing at any get together. His favorites included playing Black Jack at casinos and dominating at a game of Monopoly...regardless of the ages of his fellow players. His favorite times were the holidays, especially Christmas. He cherished laughing and spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a man who loved with his whole heart, laughed often, and gave without thought. He will be loved and remembered by many for that generosity and kindness.
